About the Publisher
Cracked Bell Publishing was established in 2008 as a small publisher for books that speak about living with chronic illness and
disability. Its founder, Karen Myers, was diagnosed with FSH muscular
dystrophy at the age of 13 and has written many essays about her
experience of living with, and accepting, this disease.
Karen
established Cracked Bell Publishing as a way to lessen the sense of
isolation that often accompanies people with a disability or chronic
illness, and to help others understand our experience. She hopes to
support those who are living with illness and build a bridge of
understanding to family members, colleagues and friends.
